Voyeur (Toronto, Ontario)

2.23.19
There is a woman across the bar that has caught my attention. She is blinking unusually fast. Is it the anxiety of this crowded bar or are her eyes dry beyond repair? She has short, silky black hair and a slim figure. I would think she was a boy if it wasn’t for the mascara and eye shadow. She scoots over three bar stools to a man with an almost identical hairstyle to hers at the end. They introduce each other and begin a conversation. Five minutes into the conversation, she has a confused/disgusted face and walks away from the man to the other side of the bar.

She begins another conversation with a well-dressed dark skin man. He is wearing a navy-blue polka dot shirt and a pair of dark tan boat shoes. They introduce each other and the conversation seems to be going well. She laughs with her head towards the sky. She shouts at the bartender for a drink (He does not respond to her requests). She has a dark orange drink in her hand (What else could she possibly want?). It looks like a mixture of whiskey and a liqueur, but I am not sure. The dark man she was conversing with has moved his gaze to another woman across the hall. He says his goodbyes and walks over to the other woman. As soon as the man walks away, she takes her phone out from her purse. She texts someone quickly and puts it away. She looks around for another to converse with. It is clear that she is here to converse with men. It is unclear whether she will find someone that truly interests her.
